Becker Z 101 review
Network and connections
Z 101 Becker was designed for those seeking a 'pure' satellite navigator, without particular multimedia functions, but with high performance. It's perfect for those who travel by car even abroad, because it has a rich and detailed Navteq cartography of 40 European countries preloaded. Simple but anything but poor, it stands out for its speed in acquiring satellites and calculating routes because it can count on a powerful 400 MHz processor and on the innovative Sirf Instant Fix II technology that makes it 5 times faster than a less advanced system. Satellite acquisition and route calculation happen in a few seconds, without unnecessary waiting. Despite its compact dimensions, the Z 101 has a large 4.3-inch screen on which following directions is simple and pleasant. To further facilitate orientation for less experienced users, Becker has also introduced on this portable device some navigation functions typical of its automotive products, such as Split screen, which places a pictogram with direction indication alongside the map representation, or Turn by Turn navigation which gives truly step-by-step indications, signaling all the turns to make. The 'lane assistant' is also extremely useful, suggesting in advance which lane to choose to follow the correct direction and proves valuable especially in large cities and on all multi-lane roads. And under tunnels or galleries navigation does not interrupt. Route calculation can be performed by entering the complete destination address, the postal code, the city, the geographic coordinates or even simply by clicking on one of the many points of interest displayed.
Design and equipment

The device, if connected to the cigarette lighter socket, turns on and off automatically when the car is started. Traditional support bracket and optional docking station.
