Becker Z 101

Release year: 2008 ★ 2.6/5(68 ratings)

The new Becker Z 101 was designed for those looking for a 'pure' satellite navigator, without particular multimedia functions, but with high performance. It is perfect for those who travel by car even abroad, because it has a rich and detailed Navteq cartography of 40 European countries preloaded. Simple but anything but basic, it stands out for the speed in acquiring satellites and calculating routes because it can rely on a powerful 400 MHz processor and the innovative Sirf Instant Fix II technology that makes it 5 times faster than a less advanced system. Satellite acquisition and route calculation take place in a few seconds, without unnecessary waiting. Despite its compact dimensions, the Z 101 has a large 4.3-inch screen on which following directions is simple and pleasant. To further facilitate orientation for less experienced users, Becker has also introduced on this portable device some navigation functions typical of its automotive products, such as Split screen, which places a pictogram with direction indication alongside the map representation, or Turn by Turn navigation which gives truly step-by-step directions, indicating all the turns to be made. The 'lane assistant' is also very useful, suggesting in advance which lane to choose to follow the correct direction and proves valuable especially in large cities and on all multi-lane roads. And navigation does not stop under tunnels or in tunnels. Route calculation can be performed by entering the complete destination address, the postal code, the city, geographic coordinates or even simply by clicking on one of the many points of interest displayed.
