Nokia 5510
Release year: 2001
Clearly, considerable care has been taken in the sections concerning ringtones, with as many as 42 available, and voice commands, with eight names for voice-activated calls. The 5510 is designed for a young audience, traditionally more open and willing to follow innovations, however "strange" they may seem to us.

Messaging notes: As far as messaging is concerned, we also notice a certain level of care here. It will in fact be possible to send multiple SMS, use chat, send Picture Messaging and Long Messages, all through the convenient full QWERTY keyboard.
Design and display
| Display | It features a large central display, similar to the 7110, with a complete alphanumeric keyboard on either side, obviously split into two sections. |

| Backlit keypad | |

Design notes: Already at first glance we can appreciate its originality: it is not the classic vertical phone we are used to seeing, but is arranged horizontally with the distinctive feature of a central display and a full keyboard (QWERTY type, just like a PC keyboard) located on both sides of the display itself: this will make it easier to compose SMS messages using both hands.

Feature notes: The features of the Nokia 5510 are typical of high-end models. We find a WAP 1.1 microbrowser, an integrated MP3 player that reads AAC and MP3 formats, with 64 Mb of memory to store your favorite songs, accompanied by new software called Nokia Audio Manager, which will allow you to create your own music compilations, even transferring your own CDs directly onto the Nokia 5510. It will also be possible to use the FM radio, with integrated automatic channel search, through the included headphones, since there is no external speaker, and it will also be possible to store ten preset radio stations.
Connectivity
| GPRS | |
| WAP | |
| IrDA (infrared) | |
| Built-in modem | |
| Bluetooth |
Connectivity notes: By connecting to a PC, music files can be downloaded via USB cable. It will be possible to answer and forward calls while listening to music, again through the included headphones. On the keyboard there will be dedicated keys for quick and easy access to the MP3 player and FM radio functions.

Personalization notes: The design is undoubtedly original. The colors currently available for the European market are two: red and blue, both with a white/beige colored side trim (resembling an aged white), these pastel colors give the phone a somewhat retro look. The covers, contrary to Nokia's philosophy, are not interchangeable.
