Network and connections
A cell phone with a QWERTY keyboard, but one that keeps a low cost profile and not too demanding features. The network receiver is in fact a GSM Dualband, on 900 and 1800 MHz frequencies. Signal coverage is good, even if it doesn't allow for intercontinental compatibility. Bluetooth is not missing as far as wireless is concerned, nor is the USB 2.0 data cable output. There is also an internal modem to take advantage of GPRS data traffic, so you can browse the Internet as well.

Design and features
The structure of this device is a one-piece unit, with rounded edges to provide greater security and comfort when holding it. On the upper part there's a TFT screen with a resolution of 320x240 pixels, displaying 256,000 colors. It is also equipped with Resistive Touch Screen technology. As already mentioned, the keyboard is an extended QWERTY, convenient for quickly managing any text. A directional pad instead helps in using the device. In the purchase package you can find the USB cable and a handy headset.

Main features
An office handheld must have advanced functionality for managing work, such as an address book, an organizer synchronized with the calendar, support for various E-mail clients and many more. In its own small way this X990 proves up to the task, thanks also to the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional platform. Java support also allows you to install compatible applications and utilities. The Office package instead allows you to conveniently manage documents in various formats. As for the phone aspect, you can count on speakerphone, multi-conference support and a voice recorder.

Entertainment and multimedia
To make sure nothing is missing, this ZTE X990 has been equipped with a 2 megapixel rear camera, which reaches a maximum resolution of 1600x1200 pixels, guaranteeing good images, thanks also to the Zoom. The available memory is expandable up to 8 GB with microSD type cards. This also allows you to store large quantities of music files, to be played with Windows Media Player, which also supports movies in various formats. There is also an AM/FM radio tuner, complete with RDS function. Battery life is absolutely remarkable and allows for great portability: 480 hours in Stand-by.
