ZTE F912 review
Network and connections
Network support is GSM Triband, on frequencies of 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. Signal quality is very good in any condition, also thanks to UMTS support. To browse the Internet you can count on the fast HSDPA modem. The dedicated HTML browser will make it easy to open Web pages. The handy Bluetooth is also present for exchanging files with compatible devices. In addition, you can sync directly to your home PC via USB cable. Wi-Fi support, however, is missing.
Design and features
A compact structure with contained dimensions. The clamshell body has a thickness of 21 mm for a reduced weight. The outer front part is flat and features an OLED display that's handy for viewing basic information. As soon as you open the phone, you discover inside the standard alphanumeric keypad, with well-arranged and comfortable keys to use. The main screen is always on the inside; it is a 240x320 pixel TFT capable of displaying up to 256,000 colors.
Main features
The proprietary platform offers complete and efficient functionality. Contact list, appointment diary, calendar, alarm clock with multiple alarms, stopwatch and calculator are just the main ones. Java support also allows you to install compatible software, so you can best customize your device. Support for predictive text helps a lot when composing text, so you can quickly handle SMS, multimedia messages and E-mail. For the purely telephone-related aspect there's speakerphone, voice recorder and video call support. The DVB-H Broadcasting module is interesting, for receiving television broadcasts.
Entertainment and multimedia
In leisure moments you can count on the utilities offered by the ZTE F912. The digital camera allows you to take photographs at a resolution of 2 megapixels. The dedicated functions, such as Zoom, Flash and autofocus help during shots. You can also record short videos. The available memory is easily expandable with microSD cards up to 8 GB. This way you can always have your favorite music files with you, to play with the dedicated multimedia player. Battery life is good, with autonomy of up to 250 hours in Stand-by.
