ZTE F101 review

Network and connections
A good quality phone, complete and functional in every respect. The network receiver is a GSM Quadband, on frequencies of 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. Signal quality is optimal in any condition, also thanks to UMTS support. To browse the Internet you can count on the internal HSDPA modem, for unmatched speeds. The dedicated HTML browser will be able to display any page without problems. There's also a Wi-Fi antenna for distributed networks. Of course there's the handy Bluetooth for exchanging files with other devices.

Design and features
Classic, clean shapes, without overly elaborate lines for this F101. The Candybar structure stays fairly compact in size, with a thickness of 12.6 mm and a weight of 90 grams. The front houses the screen, a 2-inch TFT capable of displaying up to 65,000 colors. In the center is the clickable directional pad with function keys. The lower part, on the other hand, is dedicated to the standard keyboard, with curved but comfortable-to-use buttons.

Main features
The proprietary platform is complete and satisfies every kind of need. Java support also allows for good expandability, so you can better personalize your device. Predictive text support helps a lot when composing texts, for quickly writing SMS, multimedia messages and E-mails. You can also view Office and PDF documents through the dedicated readers. As for the telephone aspect, there's the speakerphone, the voice recorder and video call support.

Entertainment and multimedia
To make sure nothing is missing, the ZTE F101 is equipped with a digital camera. This has a resolution of 2 megapixels, not outstanding but still useful for taking photos when needed. You can also record videos, to be saved on the expandable memory up to 8 GB. You'll also be able to always have your favorite audio and video files with you, to play back with the dedicated media player. Also present is the radio antenna for AM/FM frequencies. In short, a solid device that still maintains an affordable price.
