Thuraya Hughes 7101 review
The Hughes 7101 is a phone that combines three cutting-edge technologies: Satellite, GSM and GPS. GSM technology is present in all traditional cell phones, and has wide, though not total, coverage, since it is not able to receive signals out at sea or in areas where there is no repeater station nearby. Satellite technology, via the Thuraya satellite, makes up for all the lack of signal of the GSM cellular network, allowing this phone to receive and make calls even high up in the mountains or in the middle of the desert. The phone also integrates a GPS function, thanks to which it is possible at any time to know one's own position in terms of Longitude and Latitude and to send it via SMS to rescue services or to anyone else. The phone automatically switches from SAT network to GSM network whenever necessary, or according to the settings specified in the phone's menu options. It is extremely simple to use, just like any other phone, with intuitive menus that are all in Italian. There is also the option to choose among eight other languages: English, French, German, Russian, Turkish, Arabic and Farsi. It is also easy to use all the additional features such as SMS and GPS. You can download new ringtones, view missed calls, set as many as two alarms and browse via the WAP 1.2 system.
