T-Mobile Pulse Mini review

Network and connections
T-Mobile is launching a handset equipped with Android OS 2.1, once again in collaboration with the Chinese company Huawei. This is the younger sibling of the previous Pulse, therefore with slightly lower specifications. The network receiver is a GSM Tridband, on frequencies of 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. Signal coverage is optimal in any condition, also thanks to UMTS support. To browse the Internet there is an internal modem with HSDPA technology. The HTML browser will therefore be able to display Web pages quickly. It is also possible to take advantage of distributed networks, thanks to the presence of the Wi-Fi antenna. Also present is the handy Bluetooth for data transfer, as well as USB support.

Design and features
The clean and polished style gives the Pulse Mini an elegant look. The edges are rounded to guarantee an optimal grip in any situation. The dimensions remain compact, so as to offer handling without compromise. The front houses the screen, a 2.8-inch TFT, capable of displaying up to 256,000 colors. It is also equipped with Resistive Touch Screen technology, for an even more precise touch when managing the device. Just below is a handy directional pad, along with two keys for call management.

Main features
As already mentioned, the platform featured on the Pulse Mini comes from Google. Android offers a predisposition for enjoying multimedia content, already supporting YouTube, Facebook, Instant Messaging and Google Maps. Java support also allows the installation of software as desired, so as to best customize one's device. The classic management tools are also present, such as contacts list, organizer, alarm clock and calculator. With intuitive writing it's possible to quickly compose short messages but also more elaborate Emails. The Office and PDF document readers allow attachments to be viewed. For phone functions there are speakerphone, voice recorder and video call support.

Entertainment and multimedia
An excellent tool for leisure time needs as well. The built-in camera has a resolution of 3.2 megapixels, allowing perfect images to be obtained in any condition, also thanks to dedicated functions. The memory available to the user is expandable via handy microSD cards. The multimedia player instead offers the possibility of faithfully playing back favorite audio and video files. The GPS receiver is interesting, for integrating satellite functionality, for example turning the Pulse Mini into a navigator.
