T-Mobile MDA Vario IV review
Network and connections
T-Mobile launches onto the market a new, successful Business Phone, with great skills and potential. Starting with the technical features, we can say that this is a Quadband GSM, capable of guaranteeing truly excellent coverage in any condition. This is also made possible thanks to UMTS network support, usable in Dual Mode. Connectivity with other devices is convenient thanks to Bluetooth, or via the USB 2.0 cable. With the MDA Vario IV it is also possible to surf the Internet: the internal modem manages data traffic with HSDPA, while the HTML browser opens pages quickly.
Design and multimedia
Right from its design, this Smartphone offers a distinctive feel. The surfaces are satin-finished, in classic glossy black. The edges are rounded and clean, so as to provide an excellent grip. The front is entirely occupied by the display, a 3.6-inch TFT, capable of displaying up to 65,000 colors. It is also equipped with Touch Screen technology, which allows for truly quick and convenient management of the device. But that's not all, because this T-Mobile amazes with its sliding opening, which allows the screen to be tilted and reveals an extended QWERTY keyboard underneath.
Main features
MDA Vario IV 2 is equipped with the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional platform, with a free upgrade to the most current version. The 528 MHz processor allows you to fully exploit the processing potential, for fast and complete applications without compromise. In fact, in addition to the classic features such as address book, alarm clock, calendar and calculator, there's plenty of room for customization, with support for Office and PDF documents. Simplified writing makes text composition easier, so you can also easily send office E-mails. Touch or stylus management is perfect, thanks to the improved TouchFLO 3D technology. Calls boast perfect audio, thanks to a dedicated processor for sound cleanup. With a dedicated camera, video calls are also supported.
Entertainment and multimedia
T-Mobile's incredible offering is completed by good multimedia features. Hence the 3.2 megapixel camera, which allows you to take good quality photographs, as well as short videos. The 128 MB of RAM allows for good storage capacity. However, it is possible to expand the memory without any problem via microSD type cards. This way, you can always carry your favorite music with you, to be conveniently played back thanks to the media player. There is also support for GPS satellite signals, to use the MDA Vario IV as a navigator. The lithium battery life is remarkable, guaranteeing 348 hours of Stand-by autonomy.
