T-Mobile MDA Basic review
Network and connections
An interesting device, suitable for a Business audience but also for those looking for a valid, functional and complete companion for every situation. The T-Mobile MDA Basic, born in collaboration with HTC, has a Quadband GSM network receiver, on frequencies of 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. Signal coverage is optimal in any condition, despite the lack of UMTS support. To browse the Internet there is an internal modem with GPRS/EDGE technology. The HTML browser will therefore be able to quickly display Web pages. The Wi-Fi antenna for distributed networks is also present. The handy Bluetooth for data transfer is not missing, as well as USB support.
Design and features
The clean and careful style gives the MDA Basic a simple look. The edges are rounded to guarantee an optimal grip in any situation. The dimensions remain contained, so as to offer handling without compromise: 16 mm thick for 110 grams of weight. The front part houses the screen, a 2.8 inch TFT, capable of displaying up to 65,000 colors. It is also equipped with Touch Screen technology, for an even more precise touch to manage your device. Just below, a handy directional pad, together with two keys for managing calls.
Main features
The platform for this phone is Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, complete and functional right from the basic configuration. Java support also allows you to install software as you like, so as to better customize your device. The classic management tools are not missing, such as contacts address book, organizer, alarm clock and calculator. With intuitive writing it is possible to quickly compose short messages but also more articulated E-mails. The Office and PDF document readers allow you to view their attachments. For telephone functions there are the hands-free, the voice recorder and multiconference support.
Entertainment and multimedia
An excellent tool also for leisure time needs. The integrated camera has a resolution of 2 megapixels, allowing you to obtain valid images in any condition, also thanks to dedicated functions. It is also possible to record short videos. The memory available to the user is expandable via handy microSD cards. The multimedia player instead offers the possibility of faithfully reproducing your favorite audio and video files. Or you can listen to your favorite radio stations thanks to the AM/FM radio antenna. The battery life is also good, for a duration of up to 270 hours in Stand-by.
