Sony Ericsson Z610i review
Network and connections
The Sony Ericsson Z610i is a "Tri-band" and "Dual Mode" cell phone. With this device you can communicate on the GSM frequencies of 900, 1800 and 1900 Mhz. Data-level connectivity is of the UMTS type, therefore high-speed, and GPRS (class 10). The Z610i is also equipped with Bluetooth wireless technology for maximum wireless versatility. The infrared communication system (IrDa) is absent, while, via the appropriate USB cable, it is possible to connect the phone to a personal computer for content synchronization. Both the displays and the included lithium battery are good.
Design and features
This is a phone with a compact and elegant design, with a clamshell opening. It is a particularly sturdy and well-finished model, with an integrated antenna and great handling. This model is sold in the pleasant white color with the outer shell in blue. In any case it is not possible to change its appearance with interchangeable covers. The clamshell opening allows good protection of the inner part including the keypad and the main display. Inside there is a numeric keypad, with large-sized keys.
Main features
The Sony Ericsson Z610i offers "multiconferencing" and advanced third-generation services, such as video calling. Voice-command calling is also supported, as well as recording short voice Memos. Regarding messaging, instead, this model supports all the main formats. It is in fact possible to manage and send Sms, Ems, Mms and E-mail messages, including "video messages" and with the added support of the predictive text system. Memory is 16 MB and can be further expanded via Memory Stick Micro cards. The Z610i is also equipped with an alarm clock function and an internal calendar.
Entertainment and multimedia
This model offers polyphonic ringtones, MP3 format melodies and a handy image editor. In addition, support for Java (J2ME) technology allows new games to be installed, in addition to those already present, even downloading them from the network with the browser available inside. The Sony Ericsson Z610i has two built-in cameras. The first one, the external one, has a resolution of 2 Megapixels and allows you to capture excellent quality photos, at a maximum resolution of 1600x1200 pixels. The other one, instead, faces the inside of the device and is used mainly for video calls. The main camera is also equipped with 2x digital zoom and allows for video sequence recording.
