Sony Ericsson Z300i review

Network and connections

Sony Ericsson Z300i is a Dual-band GSM terminal, operating on the 900 and 1800 Mhz frequencies. The model integrates EDGE and GPRS connectivity for data transfer. Furthermore, there is an IrDa infrared port, in addition to the USB port for cable connections. There are two displays. The main one is internal, passive matrix, with 65,536 colors. Its resolution is 128x128 pixels while the external one is monochrome with a resolution of 64x64 pixels. Battery life is quite good.

Design and features

This is a clamshell phone, with a simple but pleasant look. The possibility of changing the covers designed for this model as desired makes it more appealing to young users. Two colors are available on the market: the so-called Granite Gray and Amethyst Purple. As for dimensions, the phone, when closed, falls within the category average, with a height of 85 millimeters, a width of 45 millimeters and a depth of 23 mm. The weight, also within the norm, reaches 91 grams without the battery. The built-in antenna, finally, enhances its handling.

Main features

Sony Ericsson Z300i does not offer particularly advanced voice resources. The messaging area, on the other hand, is much better equipped. In addition to SMS, it is possible to send and receive EMS and MMS, always with T9 predictive text writing. Memory is rather limited and, unfortunately, not expandable as desired.

Entertainment and multimedia

Not being a recent model, Sony Ericsson Z300i does not boast multimedia player features nor, even less, does it have a built-in radio. It is equipped, however, with polyphonic ringtones, screensavers, Java (J2ME) games and offers the user the possibility of downloading new content through the built-in WAP browser. Unfortunately, this device does not have a built-in camera and thus turns out to be a product with several technological shortcomings.
