Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini review
Network and connections
A high-end phone for Sony Ericsson, the Xperia X10 Mini is identical to the Pro model, except for the one-piece body. The network receiver is a GSM Quadband, on frequencies of 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz, ensuring optimal coverage in any area of the world. There is also UMTS support for advanced network functions. Browsing the Internet is really fast, thanks to the HSDPA modem. Or you can take advantage of networks distributed via the Wi-Fi antenna. There is also the convenient Bluetooth for exchanging files with other devices. It is also possible to synchronize the phone directly with your home PC, using the USB data cable.
Design and features
An elegant and refined style, with glossy black surfaces, which contrast with the silver interior. The lines are soft and clean, keeping the structure, as already mentioned Candybar, very easy to handle. The thickness is in fact 16 mm, with a weight of 88 grams. The front is almost entirely occupied by the large display, a 2.6-inch QVGA TFT, equipped with Capacitive Touch Screen technology for quick and intuitive management of every content. The keyboard appears on the screen, to be used with finger touches.
Main features
The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini is equipped with the Android OS 1.6 platform, developed by Google. This software makes every application really easy to use, offering stability and processing speed. The basic functions are complete, but it is still possible to install compatible software thanks to Java support. This way you will be able to fully customize your device according to your needs. Managing E-mail and Office and PDF documents will be really simple. Advanced applications include Google Maps, Facebook and YouTube. For the voice sector, there are instead the speakerphone, the voice recorder and support for video calls.
Entertainment and multimedia
So as not to miss anything, there are fun games for leisure moments. Or a multimedia player to faithfully play your favorite music and videos. The available memory is 128 MB, further expandable via microSD cards up to 16 GB. For capturing images and videos there is a digital camera, with a lens of as much as 5 megapixels. The image quality is really excellent, thanks also to the numerous dedicated functions. There is also the built-in GPS module, to turn this smartphone into a satellite navigator.
