Network and connections
The Sony Ericsson device turns out to be a mid-low range phone, equipped however with satisfying technical features. It is in fact equipped with a GSM Triband receiver, which means it can operate on 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz frequencies, guaranteeing good coverage at an international level. As for Internet connectivity instead, it is equipped with an internal modem that, together with the GPRS protocol for packet data traffic, allows browsing through the WAP browser. In addition, you can find Bluetooth, to be used for exchanging files with other devices, or even an output for the USB 2.0 cable.
Design and features
The shapes are young and fun, to break away from classic patterns and give a stylistic freshness. The body has a clamshell structure, with hinge opening. The dimensions are quite compact, so as to guarantee portability without compromises: 16 mm in thickness and 100 grams in weight. The outer surface is equipped with dedicated keys for music functions. Inside instead there is a 1.9 inch screen, able to display up to 256,000 colors. A small external display instead is equipped with OLED technology. There are two available colors, Electric Purple and Magnetic Grey. The purchase kit includes a 512 MB Memory Stick M2 card, as well as headphones.
Main features
A phone that doesn't seek compromises despite being dedicated to people who don't declare particular needs. The functional side is complete, with all the basic applications to best manage the device. A handy agenda synchronized to the calendar allows you to best manage appointments. Or even a complete contact list, the alarm and Java support for installing new compatible applications. As for the voice aspect instead, we can talk about built-in speakerphone, voice recorder and multiconference support.
Entertainment and multimedia
The Walkman lettering printed on the body immediately reveals the fingerprints of this W380i. It is in fact equipped with a complete multimedia player, to play audio files in various formats. It also allows you to comfortably receive AM/FM radio broadcasts, to listen to your favorite stations. Quality speakers reproduce a faithful sound, both with headphones and in open environments. On the back you can find a 1.3 megapixel camera, which thanks to the Zoom allows you to take photographs of acceptable quality. Battery life is satisfying, up to 300 hours in Stand-by.
