Network and connections

Sony Ericsson W300 is a Quad-Band phone that supports GSM frequencies of 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 Mhz. The phone is equipped with EDGE and GPRS connectivity. It also has Bluetooth, for interconnection with other devices (phones and compatible devices). It is equipped with a USB port and an IrDa port, for infrared connections. Sony Ericsson W300 has a dual display. The external one is monochrome while the internal one is rather large and features vivid colors, of the TFT type. The battery is good.

Design and equipment

Sony Ericsson W300 is a clamshell phone. It stands out for its modern lines, light color and compact dimensions, which make it easy to handle. It has a rounded shape with smoothed corners and an integrated antenna. It measures 90x47x24mm and weighs 94 grams, battery included. The purchase kit includes the travel charger, the Disc2 software, an additional Memory Stick Micro, black stereo headphones and the USB cable.

Main features

Regarding the main functions, we note the presence of hands-free operation, while it is not possible to use multi-conference calling, for communicating with multiple users at the same time. The phone also does not have the voice-command calling function. It is however equipped with alarm clock, currency converter, calculator and organizer. Sony Ericsson W300 supports sending and receiving SMS, MMS and E-mail, with integrated predictive text writing system. The memory is 25 MB.

Entertainment and multimedia

Sony Ericsson W300 offers the user polyphonic ringtones, screensavers and Java games (J2ME), with the possibility of downloading new content through the built-in WAP browser. The model also has an integrated AM and FM radio, an MP3 player, for listening to music, and a video player. Sony Ericsson W300 is equipped with an integrated camera, with VGA resolution for capturing images up to 640x480 pixels in resolution. Finally, it is possible to activate self-timer mode, while there is no flash function.
