Sony Ericsson W205 review
Network and connections
A new device in the music series, aimed at a broad audience with not overly demanding needs. The technical features are good, starting with the network receiver; it is indeed a GSM Dualband, capable of operating on the 900 and 1800 MHz frequencies. UMTS support is not present, however additional services beyond the normal voice channel can be used. For example you can browse the Web, thanks to the internal modem with GPRS data traffic management. The HTML browser can thus easily open Internet pages. To exchange files with other devices you can use Bluetooth. Additionally the USB 2.0 data cable is useful for syncing directly with your home PC.
Design and features
The compact shape with rounded edges delivers a lot in terms of portability. The 16.4 mm thickness and the weight of only 96 grams make it an excellent companion for any moment. The front houses the large screen, a 1.8-inch TFT displaying 65,000 colors, for sharp and bright images. Just below, a directional pad allows immediate management of every function, along with the function keys. Opening the vertical Slider body reveals the alphanumeric keyboard inside. The sales package includes the data cable and the stereo headset from the music series.
