Network and connections
Brother of the Sony Ericsson Vivaz, the PRO version differs for the presence of the extended QWERTY keyboard. The network receiver is still a GSM Quadband, capable of guaranteeing optimal coverage in any area of the world, also thanks to UMTS support. Internet browsing is really fast, with HSDPA modem for packet data traffic. With the HTML browser it will feel like opening pages just like with home ADSL. To exchange files with other compatible devices, Bluetooth is used instead. Or also the USB 2.0 data cable to sync directly with the PC. Also present is the antenna for Wi-Fi networks.
Design and features
The compact structure encloses everything in a resistant body that is practical to handle, despite the presence of the slider opening. The rounded edges offer an ergonomic grip, to hold the device comfortably in the palm of a hand. The dimensions are in fact contained, with 15 mm of thickness and only 117 grams of weight. The front hosts the large screen, a 3.2-inch TFT with display of up to 16 million colors and accelerometer sensor for image auto-rotation. It is equipped with Resistive Touch Screen technology, to offer simple and intuitive management of content. A multifunction key also helps in using the menus. The sales package includes headphones and data cable.
Main features
The platform is Symbian Series 60, designed to offer advanced functionality to the user, while still keeping simplicity of management and customization. This is made possible by the application package offered, absolutely complete, with contacts, organizer, alarm clock and calculator, currency converter and also stopwatch. But not only that, because Java support allows the installation of compatible software for expansion. Support for Office documents allows managing E-mail attachments without problems. They can be composed quickly, thanks to the QWERTY keyboard, ideal for writing just like with a PC. Even the purely telephone aspect is no less, with good quality hands-free, voice recorder, multiconference support. Additionally, the dedicated camera allows making video calls. It is also possible to always stay in touch with friends on the network, through Instant Messaging. Interesting is the presence of the TV output (in VGA resolution).
Entertainment and multimedia
In a quality device like the Vivaz Pro, a good camera could certainly not be missing. It has a resolution of 5 megapixels, for always sharp and bright images, also thanks to Flash, Zoom and other dedicated functions, such as Smile Detection. It will also be possible to record videos, to then save on the 75 MB internal memory, further expandable up to 16 GB with microSD cards. This way favorite music and videos will always be in your pocket, to play back with the media player. The AM/FM antenna then allows receiving favorite radio broadcasts in any area. Very good battery life, lasting up to 440 hours in Stand-by.
