Sony Ericsson T700 Pink review

Network and connections
The T700 was already on the market in other colors, and now it is also being launched in pink, to follow fashion trends and give the device a more feminine touch. Speaking of technical specifications, we can say that it is a GSM Quadband, also able to take advantage of UMTS network support thanks to Dual Mode. This way, coverage is always guaranteed anywhere in the world. Even while on the move, it is possible to browse the Internet extremely quickly. This is made possible by HSDPA data traffic management, which reaches speeds comparable to home ADSL. The HTML browser therefore allows web pages to be displayed without any problem. Of course, Bluetooth for wireless connectivity and the USB 2.0 data cable port could not be missing.

Design and features
As already mentioned, what differentiates the T700 Pink from previous versions is only the color. The style is therefore kept intact, a classic Candybar with refined lines, rounded edges and raised keys. The grip is comfortable and secure, thanks also to dimensions entirely geared toward high portability: 10 mm thick and only 78 grams in weight. On the front is the display, a 2-inch TFT capable of displaying up to 256,000 colors. Below it is the standard numeric keypad, with thin but well-spaced keys. For managing the device, there are also dedicated function keys, along with the directional pad. Worth noting is the presence in the purchase kit of a handy 512 MB memory card, along with the USB cable and earphones.

Main features

A high-class phone like the Sony Ericsson T700 Pink must absolutely be equipped with every basic feature. That's why it doesn't lack the contacts address book, the organizer to best manage one's appointments, the alarm clock and the calculator. The voice sector is also complete, thanks to the hands-free function which offers good audio quality; or again the voice recorder, as well as multiconference support. The front camera also allows video calls to be made. Although the platform is proprietary, it is possible to install compatible applications thanks to Java support. The Music Mode is interesting, as it disables wave emission in environments such as hospitals or on airplanes, so the T700 can still be used for entertainment. Text writing is quick thanks to T9, allowing E-mail to be managed directly from the phone.

Entertainment and multimedia
To complete the quality offering of this device, the Japanese-Swedish designers certainly could not forget the camera. It features a resolution of 3.2 megapixels, capable of delivering sharp and bright images, thanks also to the Photo Light function for illumination and the built-in Zoom. It is also possible to create slideshow presentations directly on the phone, with X-Pict Story. The multimedia player is able to read every type of audio and video format, so you can always have your favorite files with you. The TrackID function allows you to find complete information about songs directly from the Web; moreover, you can count on stereo speakers for richer, shared sound. Support for receiving FM radio broadcasts is also present, to expand your horizons even further. Battery life is quite significant: up to 370 hours in Stand-by.
