Sony Ericsson T250i review

Network and connections
The American company offers a decidedly competitive new device in the low-to-mid range of the market. The T250i is equipped with a Dualband GSM receiver, capable of working on the 900 and 1800 MHz frequencies. In this way, signal coverage turns out to be quite good. As for Internet browsing, there is an integrated modem with GPRS/EDGE data traffic management. Pages will therefore be displayed without problems, with the WAP browser. Bluetooth is missing, however, for exchanging files with compatible devices, while you can use the USB 2.0 data cable output to sync with your home PC.

Design and features
The lines of this Smartphone are truly simple yet elegant, giving a sense of compactness and sturdiness. The body is a one-piece shell, with rounded edges so as to provide greater comfort in the grip. Portability is also very good, given the compact dimensions: 82 grams in weight for a thickness of 13 mm. On the upper part stands out the screen, a 1.7-inch TFT with a maximum display of 65,000 colors. The sales package should include the USB data cable and the headset.

Main features
The Sony Ericsson T250i, supplied with a proprietary platform, turns out to be complete and functional. With Java support, moreover, it is possible to install compatible utilities to partly customize your device. The basic functions are absolutely complete: a phonebook for contacts, an agenda synchronized with the calendar for appointments, an alarm clock and a calculator. The voice section is also noteworthy, thanks to the integrated speakerphone, the voice recorder and multiconference support. The predictive text support allows for quickly composing SMS and multimedia messages, but you have to do without E-mail.

Entertainment and multimedia
To round out the features of this interesting though simple device, the designers deemed it necessary to integrate a good digital camera, with VGA resolution and functions such as autofocus and Zoom. The photos obtained are of rather poor quality, but still useful when needed. A positive note, however, is the presence of an AM/FM radio tuner, so you can listen to your favorite stations on the go. Battery life is good, lasting up to 300 hours in Stand-by.
