Sony Ericsson T250 review

Network and connections
The American company offers a decidedly competitive new device in a mid-low market segment. The T250 is equipped with a GSM Dualband receiver, thus capable of working on the 900 and 1800 MHz frequencies. In this way, signal coverage turns out to be fairly good. As for Internet browsing, there is a built-in modem with GPRS/EDGE data traffic management. Pages will therefore be displayed without problems, with the WAP browser. Bluetooth is missing for exchanging files with compatible devices, while the USB 2.0 data cable output can be used to sync with your home PC.

Design and features
The lines of this Smartphone are truly simple yet elegant, giving a sense of compactness and sturdiness. The body is a one-piece shell, with rounded edges so as to give greater comfort in the grip. Portability is also very good, given the compact dimensions: 82 grams in weight for a thickness of 13 mm. On the top part, the display stands out, a 1.7-inch TFT with a maximum display of 65,000 colors. The sales package should include the USB data cable and the earphones.

Main features
The Sony Ericsson T250 is supplied with a proprietary platform that turns out to be complete and functional. With Java support, it is also possible to install compatible utilities to partly customize your device. The basic functions are absolutely complete: a phonebook for contacts, a calendar synced agenda for appointments, alarm clock and calculator. The voice department is also noteworthy, thanks to the built-in speakerphone, the voice recorder and support for multi-conferencing. Support for predictive text input allows you to quickly compose SMS and multimedia messages, but you have to do without E-mail.

Entertainment and multimedia
To complete the features of this interesting though simple device, the designers deemed it necessary to integrate a good digital camera, with VGA resolution and functions such as autofocus and Zoom. The photos obtained are of rather poor quality, but still useful in case of need. A positive note, however, is the presence of an AM/FM radio tuner, so you can listen to your favorite stations while on the move. Battery life is good, lasting up to 300 hours in Stand-by.
