Sony Ericsson S312 review
Network and connections
The American company offers a decidedly competitive new device in a mid-low market segment. The S312 is equipped with a GSM Dualband receiver, capable of working on frequencies of 900 and 1800 MHz. This way the signal coverage turns out to be quite good. As for Internet browsing, there is an integrated modem with GPRS/EDGE data traffic management. Pages will therefore be displayed without problems, with the HTML browser. Of course Bluetooth is not missing, for exchanging files with compatible devices, nor is the USB 2.0 data cable output.
Design and features
The lines of this Smartphone are truly simple yet elegant, giving a sense of compactness and sturdiness especially due to the closeness of the rounded keys. The body is a one-piece design, with rounded edges so as to give greater comfort in the grip. Portability is also very good, given the compact dimensions: 80 grams of weight for a thickness of 12.5 mm. On the upper part stands out the screen, a 2-inch TFT with maximum display of 256,000 colors. The sales package should include the USB data cable and the earphones.
Main features
The Sony Ericsson S312 comes with a proprietary platform that is complete and functional. With Java support it is also possible to install compatible applications to better customize your device. The basic functions are absolutely complete: contact list, calendar synchronized agenda for appointments, alarm clock and calculator. The voice sector is also noteworthy, thanks to the integrated speakerphone, the voice recorder and support for multiconferencing. Support for predictive text input allows you to quickly compose even E-mails, with attachment management via Pocket Office.
Entertainment and multimedia
To complete the features of this incredible Smartphone, the designers deemed it necessary to integrate a good digital camera, with a resolution of 2 megapixels with autofocus and Zoom. The photos obtained are of good quality, storable without problems in the standard 15 MB memory, expandable up to 4 GB with Memory Stick M2 type cards. There is also a multimedia player, with support for various audio and video formats, to always have your favorite music with you. You can also listen to radio broadcasts in RDS, thanks to the AM/FM antenna. Portability is truly incredible, thanks to the lithium battery that guarantees a battery life of up to 400 hours in Stand-by.
