Sony Ericsson M600i review

Network and connections

Sony Ericsson M600i is a Dual Mode phone, UMTS and Tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz). In addition to 3G connectivity it supports EDGE and GPRS technologies for data transfer. Sony Ericsson M600i also offers Bluetooth and IrDa wireless compatibility, as well as via USB cable, and is equipped with the Symbian 9.1 operating system. The device's display (2.6 inch touch screen) is large and very well defined. The built-in battery offers good autonomy.

Design and features

Sony Ericsson M600i has a "candybar" design, linear and elegant. It is marketed in "granite black" and "crystal white" colors. It is a thin and compact handset, not particularly light. Sony Ericsson M600i has an integrated antenna and the simplicity of the lines is enhanced by the built-in "Qwerty" keyboard, of a particular type, with two letters per key. This is backlit in blue, the same color as the stylus used for the touch-screen display.

Main features

Sony Ericsson M600i combines traditional functions with speakerphone, voice Memo and others. The Symbian 9.1 operating system allows you to view various attachments and PDFs; manage, create or edit Power Point, Word and Excel files. It also allows you to perform remote synchronizations and retrieve RSS feeds with News updates, using the Opera 8 HTML browser. As for messaging, this phone supports sending Sms, Ems, Mms and E-mail, with T9 writing system. Thanks to 3G technology, it is also possible to use video messages and video calls. A curious feature is the "flight mode" function, for use on airplanes. The security of connections is guaranteed by the included antivirus/firewall system. Sony Ericsson M600i has 80 MB of memory, expandable via "Memory Stick Micro" cards.

Entertainment and multimedia

This phone's multimedia capabilities are quite good. Thanks to the built-in music player you can listen to music in MP3, AAC, AAC+, E-AAC+, M4A and OMA DRM format. Java MIDP 2.0 games and applications are also present, with the possibility of downloading new ones through the WAP browser. The quality and quantity of polyphonic ringtones are also decent. This model, being dedicated to business users, has neither a radio nor a built-in camera.
