The display, of the TFT type and with a resolution of 240x320 pixels, is capable of displaying up to a maximum of 262,144 colors. Its size is 2.2" and the material represents an innovation in the category, now being made of crystal.

Design and features

Aesthetically, Sony Ericsson K850 comes with a candybar design, with squared lines and an integrated antenna. Thanks to the presence of a rotation sensor, the display is also able to display photographs in portrait or landscape mode, regardless of the orientation in which they were taken. What does change compared to previous models is the keypad, shaped with square buttons. The keypad also serves a second function when the camera is turned on, allowing easy and quick access to the main photo applications thanks to the presence of some illuminated icons. The overall dimensions of this camera-phone are 102mm in height, 48mm in width and 17mm in depth. The weight is 118 grams. The phone is available in two colors: velvet blue or luminous green.

Main features

In addition to the classic functions of alarm clock, stopwatch, calculator and organizer, Sony Ericsson K850 allows you to take advantage of third generation services, such as video calls and video messages. It also features a picture phonebook, speakerphone function and multi-conference calling. As for messaging, this model supports SMS, MMS and E-mail management, integrating the simplified T9 writing system. The built-in memory is 40 MB and is expandable via MicroSD/Transflash cards.

Entertainment and multimedia

The multimedia capabilities of Sony Ericsson K850 are remarkable. This model features polyphonic ringtones, screensavers and Java games, with the ability to download new content through the built-in WAP browser. It also features a video player, an audio recorder and an MP3 music player, as well as FM radio. The true star of the Sony Ericsson K850 is the built-in digital camera, which borrows from Sony's "Cybershot" technology many of its most important features. The sensor resolution is a full 5 megapixels, with autofocus, Xenon flash with red-eye reduction device, image stabilizer and Photo Fix feature that automatically adjusts lighting conditions at the moment of shooting. In addition, there is also the BestPic system for capturing up to nine frames in sequence with a single shot. Finally, there is the "picture blogging" sharing feature, designed to post images and clips over the network to your own personal blog.
