Sony Ericsson k750i review
Network and connections
Sony Ericsson K750i belongs to the category of tri-Band GSM cell phones: it is therefore able to receive on three different frequencies: 900, 1800 and 1900 Mhz. To access the data network, EDGE compatibility is present, fairly fast and reliable, in addition to GPRS. The phone has Bluetooth technology, which allows the use of wireless accessories, such as headsets, and wireless connection to other devices. Alternatively, one can also make use of the more obsolete infrared connection (IrDa). Finally, it is possible to connect to a computer via cable thanks to the USB connection.
Design and features
Sony Ericsson K750i comes with a "candybar" design, very squared off but elegant and well finished. This type of structure penalizes the excellent screen, which is thus very exposed to the risk of accidental scratches and dents. The antenna is integrated and does not increase the dimensions of the phone, which turns out to be fairly thin. Below the display is the keypad, with medium-large sized buttons and a convenient pad for navigating easily through the menus. The phone is available in Oxidized Black (black) and Blasted Silver color options.
Main features
During a conversation it is possible to use the hands-free mode, thanks to the built-in speaker. In addition, multiconference calls can be made, to communicate with multiple users at the same time. The voice command calling function is also available. The built-in voice recorder is also very useful. As for messaging, Sony Ericsson K750i is compatible with all current standards: it is in fact capable of receiving and sending Sms, Ems, Mms and e-mail, all easily composed thanks to the dedicated predictive writing software. It is also equipped with alarm clock, calculator and agenda. Internal memory is 38 MB but is expandable via Memory Stick Duo, a 64 MB card of which is supplied as standard.
Entertainment and multimedia
Sony Ericsson K750i has a built-in composer that allows you to compose custom melodies. You can also use and download polyphonic ringtones, wallpapers and screensavers. It is also possible to expand the list of games with newer ones thanks to Java (J2ME) support and the built-in WAP browser. This model is equipped with FM radio with RDS, which allows the name of the radio station to be displayed on the screen instead of the frequency. It also has an MP3 player and an MP4/3GP video player. The built-in camera has a sensor resolution of a full 2 Megapixel. It takes excellent quality photographs, sharp and well-defined, at a maximum resolution of 1600x1200 pixels. The device is also equipped with 4x digital zoom, autofocus, self-timer and built-in flash, as well as video recording.
