Sony Ericsson K220 review

Network and connections
Sony Ericsson launches onto the market a phone with complete and appreciable features, even though its belonging to the low-end market segment imposes some compromises that are nonetheless acceptable. First of all, this is a GSM Dualband device, operating on the 900 and 1800 MHz frequencies. Signal coverage is therefore adequately good, though with problems when traveling internationally due to the operator change. Despite this, it is able to offer a connection to the Internet, thanks to the internal modem and the WAP browser. Data traffic in this case is handled by GPRS support. Bluetooth support is missing, but there is a convenient USB 2.0 port for syncing with the home PC.

Design and features
As mentioned, the design is young and dynamic, with simple and essential lines that nevertheless give a distinctive touch to the external surfaces. The edges are rounded precisely to ensure greater comfort and security in the grip. This is also helped by the rather compact dimensions: 16.7 mm thickness and a weight of 82 grams. At the top is the display, a 128x128 pixel TFT capable of displaying up to 65,000 colors. Just below it is a directional pad and function keys dedicated to managing the device. The keypad, on the other hand, is a standard alphanumeric one.
