Network and connections
Officially known as Satio, this device had instead been first unveiled under the name Idou, with little information available to suggest an amazing device. Well, the Idou has proven to be truly excellent, beyond all expectations. It offers high-quality technical solutions, starting with the GSM Quadband network receiver. It integrates UMTS support for advanced network functionality. Web browsing capability is advanced, with HSDPA support for fast data traffic. This way you can use the HTML browser to view pages and multimedia content. You can also take advantage of distributed Wi-Fi networks. To transfer data with other devices you can use Bluetooth, or the USB data cable.
Design and features
A distinctive style, elegant while maintaining simple and clean lines. The front has sharp, slim contours. The large 3.5-inch screen allows every image to be displayed perfectly, thanks to its 16 million colors. It is equipped with Touch Screen technology for intuitive and quick management of functions. The dimensions are really compact, with a thickness of 13 mm for a weight of 126 grams. This way portability and handling are guaranteed. The back shows a slight bulge, due to the camera lens cover.
Main features
The platform the Idou is equipped with is Symbian Series 60 Fifth Edition. This is synonymous with efficiency and practicality, as well as expandability and customization thanks to Java support. Every basic management application is present in the standard configuration. You can manage E-mails from multiple accounts, sending and receiving attachments also in Office and PDF formats. Network multimedia content, such as Google Maps, is also supported. You can also manage your own Blog or contact friends through Instant Messaging. As for pure telephone functions, worth mentioning are the speakerphone, the voice recorder, and video call support, thanks to the dedicated front-facing camera.
Entertainment and multimedia
It is in this section that the Idou clearly sets itself apart from other high-end devices. In fact, it is equipped with a camera boasting as much as 12.1 megapixels. The photo quality is stunning, like that of a professional camera, relying on digital Zoom and Xenon Flash, Smile Detection, Touch Focus and Best Pic to take as many as 9 photographs in one second, so you can always choose the best image. The memory available in the standard configuration is 128 MB. To store large amounts of files, however, it can be expanded up to 32 GB, thanks to microSD cards. The media player, on the other hand, will take care of faithfully playing back music and videos. GPS support is also present, integrating satellite functions such as navigation and GeoTagging. Finally, battery life is also good, lasting 340 hours in Stand-by.
