Design and equipment
At first glance, the decisive lines that highlight the flat, glossy surfaces of the G705 are striking. The edges are slightly rounded to give greater comfort in the grip, while still leaving a sense of importance, necessary for an elegant device like this Sony Ericsson. The front is occupied by the screen, a 2.4-inch TFT, capable of displaying up to 256,000 colors. Just below are a clickable directional pad and function keys, convenient for managing everything at its best. The Slider opening reveals the standard numeric keypad inside. The dimensions are rather compact, 14.3 mm thick for a weight of 98 grams. The sales kit contains the data cable, the headset and a handy 1 GB memory card.

The main qualities of this device are revealed in Web browsing, in collaboration with the Google search engine and integrating an RSS Feed reader. The G705 is in fact equipped with an advanced browser that allows for perfect display of content, also thanks to the dedicated Zoom key for enlarging the smallest details of pages. Furthermore, the accelerometer allows the image displayed on the screen to be automatically adjusted according to the orientation of the phone. Of course, the classic organizer functions are also present, such as a contacts address book and appointment calendar, as well as an alarm clock and calculator. Support for predictive text allows for quick composition of messages, from short SMS to more demanding E-mails, up to Instant Messaging. The voice sector offers hands-free speakerphone, voice recorder and multi-conference support. The front camera also allows video calls to be made.
Entertainment and multimedia
Also complete as far as the entertainment segment is concerned, the G705 is in fact equipped with a 3.2-megapixel camera, capable of taking good quality photographs in any lighting condition, thanks to the integrated Zoom and Flash. The multimedia player, on the other hand, allows you to play audio and video files in various formats, to take with you in the 120 MB memory (further expandable through MS M2 cards). Support for receiving AM/FM radio broadcasts is also present, with RDS function.
