Sony Ericsson C702i review

Network and connections
The C702i immediately proves to be a device with absolutely incredible qualities. The reception system is a GSM Quadband, on frequencies of 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. This guarantees more than excellent coverage anywhere in the world, also counting on Dual Mode to take advantage of the UMTS network. Browsing the Web has never been so easy, thanks to the internal modem which, together with the HTML browser, allows pages to be displayed quickly, taking advantage of HSDPA management for data traffic. There's also Bluetooth for exchanging files with other devices, as well as the USB 2.0 cable for syncing with a PC.

Design and features
The shapes are in classic Sony Ericsson style, a one-piece Candybar body, with rounded lines on the edges to provide comfort and ease of grip. At the bottom is the standard keyboard, with small keys that nonetheless don't create usability problems. In the center is a directional pad for quickly managing the device, plus two handy function keys. The upper part, on the other hand, is occupied by the screen, 2.2 inches in size with a display of 256,000 colors. The dimensions are in line with category standards, 16 mm thick for a weight of 105 grams. In the sales package you can find the USB cable and the earphones.

Main features
A complete and functional device must clearly present the most common basic utilities. Indeed, there's no shortage of an advanced phonebook, the calendar synced to the agenda for managing personal appointments, the alarm clock and the currency converter. As for the voice channel, we can count on speakerphone, voice recorder and support for multi-conference and video calling. The latter can indeed be done thanks to the front camera. Furthermore, it's possible to receive and send E-mail with attachments, including documents in the most common formats, so you can also manage your work while away from the office.

Entertainment and multimedia

A very positive and surprising side of the C702i is precisely characterized by its multimedia capabilities. On the back we can find a 3.2 megapixel camera which, thanks to 2X Zoom and the built-in Flash, allows you to take perfect photographs. Interesting is the function that, thanks to the built-in GPS receiver, recognizes the location where the photograph is taken, automatically adding a lot of information about the place captured. The camera is also able to recognize the presence of a face in the lens, to improve autofocus at the moment of shooting. The available memory is large, 150 MB expandable via Memory Stick M2. There's certainly no shortage of a multimedia player, as well as an AM/FM receiver for radio stations. Battery life is also very good, about 300 hours in Stand-by.
