Network and connections
Another phone from Sony Ericsson capable of amazing with the qualities it offers, in a simple and compact design. Starting with the technical features we can say that it is a GSM Triband, capable of working on frequencies of 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. In addition, Dual Mode support allows the phone to also be used on UMTS networks; in this way coverage will be truly complete in every part of the world. Continuing with the description, we find an internal modem that allows for very fast Web browsing, thanks to HSDPA. HTML pages are therefore displayed quickly by the dedicated browser. We also find the classic Bluetooth for exchanging files with other devices, or again the USB 2.0 data cable for syncing with a PC.
Design and equipment
The dimensions are compact, 12.5 mm thick for a weight of just 92 grams. This guarantees truly important ease of use; the rounded edges help increase grip and handling. The upper part is occupied by the screen, a 2.2-inch TFT, capable of displaying up to 256 thousand colors. Just below are the directional pad and some function keys, handy for managing the device. The keyboard is a standard alphanumeric one, with keys that are close together but practical and comfortable to press. The sales package also includes stereo headphones.
Main features
The Sony Ericsson C510 is a truly complete phone, capable of satisfying every kind of need. The platform is proprietary, however the presence of Java support allows for installing utilities and applications, to best personalize your device. The classic basic features are excellent, a phonebook for contacts, a calendar for managing appointments, alarm clock and calculator, as well as a currency converter. T9 predictive text support helps with quick text composition, for simple SMS but also for E-mail. Also worth mentioning is the ability to make video calls, thanks to the dedicated front-facing camera.
Entertainment and multimedia
This is the area where the C510 truly performs at its best. The digital camera has a resolution of 3.2 megapixels, with numerous dedicated functions. The images are truly of quality, also counting on smile recognition (Smile Shutter) and face detection (Face Detection), as well as numerous additional functions. The available memory is as much as 100 MB, further expandable thanks to Memory Stick Micro M2 type cards. In this way it is therefore possible to carry music and video files in various formats, to be played at any moment thanks to the dedicated player. Support for receiving AM/FM radio waves is also provided. Also very interesting is the operating autonomy guaranteed by the battery, up to 400 hours in Stand-by.
