Sony Ericsson Bijou review
Network and connections
Some call it a gem, others an absolutely fashionable and classy accessory. Starting from the technical characteristics, you immediately find an excellent predisposition to quality, with Quadband GSM and the ability to work in Dual Mode to also support UMTS networks. This way the signal will always be excellent in any part of the world. An internal modem with HSDPA data traffic management allows for fast Internet browsing. The HTML browser will be able to quickly open any Web page. There's no lack of Bluetooth for exchanging files with other devices, and a USB port for syncing with your home PC.
Design and features
What certainly strikes the observer immediately is the particular design of the Sony Ericsson Bijou. It seems to have been born from an "En Ciseaux" cut of a gem, with a squared shape and sharp lines. The dimensions are decidedly compact, with a thickness of 18.2 mm and just 84 grams of weight, considering the clamshell structure. Opening the body reveals the display inside, a 240x320 pixel TFT, capable of displaying up to 256,000 colors. The images are sharp and bright, and are automatically rotated on the screen based on orientation, thanks to the accelerometer. Also inside is the standard alphanumeric keypad, with keys whose design recalls the sharp shapes.
Main features
Apparently the Bijou is equipped with the Symbian platform, known for its ease of use and compatibility with numerous expansion applications. This is also made possible by Java support, to allow uncompromising customization. The features offered are numerous, with contacts address book, organizer, calculator, alarm clock and currency converter. There is also an RSS Feed reader, so you can always stay informed on the latest news. Easy writing allows you to easily manage SMS, MMS and E-mail. You can also view attachments in the most common formats. For voice functions, there's the speakerphone, voice recorder and multiconference support. You can also make video calls.
Entertainment and multimedia
The offering dedicated to the leisure sector is also complete. A tool now used daily must prove itself valid in every situation. Indeed, the digital camera allows you to capture the most beautiful moments, thanks to its 3.2 megapixel optics. It also allows you to record short videos complete with audio. The multimedia player is excellent for playing your favorite music and videos. There's also the radio tuner, to receive AM/FM broadcasts, complete with the RDS function. In conclusion, it's worth mentioning the presence of the GPS satellite receiver, to integrate Geo-Tagging functions into the photos taken and satellite navigation.
