Sharp 923SH review
Network and connections
This Sharp 923SH phone proves right away to be a device with absolutely incredible qualities. The reception system is a GSM Triband, on 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz frequencies. This guarantees more than excellent coverage in any part of the world, also counting on Dual Mode to take advantage of the UMTS network. Browsing the Web has never been so easy, thanks to the internal modem which, together with the HTML browser, allows pages to be displayed quickly, taking advantage of HSDPA management for data traffic. Bluetooth is also present for exchanging files with other devices, as well as a USB 2.0 cable for syncing with a PC. There is also an infrared communication port.
Design and features
The style is decidedly elegant and serious, with squared shapes and firm lines. The body opens in a clamshell design, revealing the standard alphanumeric keyboard inside. A directional pad is instead handy for quickly managing the device, along with function keys. The upper part is occupied by the screen, 854x480 pixels displaying 16 million colors. The particular feature is the possible screen rotation which can become horizontal. On the front there is also a small auxiliary display. The dimensions are in line with category standards, 18.6 mm thick for a weight of 132 grams. In the sales package you can find the USB cable and the earphones.
Main features
A complete and functional device must clearly present the most common basic utilities. Indeed, there is no shortage of an advanced address book, a calendar-synced agenda for managing personal appointments, an alarm clock and a currency converter. As for the voice channel, we can count on speakerphone, voice recorder and support for multi-conference calls and video calling. The latter is indeed possible thanks to the dedicated camera. Furthermore, it is possible to receive and send E-mails with attachments, including documents in the most common formats, so you can also manage your work while away from the office. For out-of-town trips, a digital compass is provided.
Entertainment and multimedia
A very positive and surprising side of the 923SH is precisely characterized by its multimedia capabilities. We find a 5 megapixel camera which, thanks to Zoom and built-in Flash, allows you to take perfect photographs. The available memory is large, 100 MB expandable via microSD cards up to 4 GB. There is certainly no shortage of a multimedia player, capable of faithfully reproducing every audio and video file. A GPS receiver can be purchased separately to integrate satellite functionality into this device. Battery life is also very good, about 310 hours in Stand-by.
