Network and connections


The SGH-X650 model from Korean manufacturer Samsung is a Tri-Band GSM cell phone. It can therefore be used in almost the entire world, on three different network frequencies: 900, 1800 and 1900 Mhz. As for data connection, the phone uses GPRS technology, which offers good reliability but low speed. Samsung SGH-X650 also features infrared connectivity (IrDa) but offers neither Bluetooth support nor a USB port. These two shortcomings significantly limit the device's potential uses, especially in relation to other devices.



Design and features


As for design, Samsung SGH-X650 is classified as a clamshell phone (with a shell-like opening). On the outside it is characterized by soft, rounded lines, in a black-colored body. The weight and dimensions, particularly the thickness, are very compact. The antenna is built-in and the outer part of the device lacks a secondary display. The keyboard layout is rather geometric, with medium-sized keys and a convenient pad for quickly moving through the menus.



Main features


During a call, Samsung SGH-X650 allows you to use the speakerphone mode, thanks to which you can talk hands-free. The multi-conference function and the voice sequence recorder are also available. As for messaging, this model offers support for the Sms, Ems and Mms standards. Unfortunately, E-mail management is missing. Texts can be easily composed thanks to the dedicated intuitive writing system. Internal memory is very limited (3 MB) and is not expandable.



Entertainment and multimedia


Samsung SGH-X650 offers good customization possibilities. It is possible to expand the list of games with new ones downloadable through the WAP browser, all thanks to Java J2ME technology. The model is unfortunately not equipped with a multimedia player and therefore makes it impossible to play music files and videos, but it is nevertheless equipped with a built-in AM/FM radio capable of providing pleasant moments. Samsung SGH-X650 is fitted with a VGA-type camera. It has a rather low resolution, at most 640 x 480 pixels, and has neither digital zoom nor a built-in flash. Finally, the phone has a built-in image editing software, which allows you to embellish photos with frames or other small effects.
