Samsung T479 Gravity 3 review

Network and connections
A young, fresh Smartphone with innovative features, dedicated especially to a young audience, fond of Communities and messaging. Its technical qualities place it in a mid-range market segment. The network receiver is a GSM Quadband, also capable of working in Dual Mode to support UMTS networks. This way, signal coverage is decidedly good, anywhere in the world. The Internet connection is excellent, in fact it boasts HSDPA support for fast packet data traffic. The internal modem and the HTML browser therefore allow free browsing through Web pages. The T479 Gravity 3 lacks Wi-Fi support, however it does have Bluetooth and a handy USB 2.0 output.

Design and features

The soft, rounded shape keeps the dimensions compact, despite the Slider opening body. It has a thickness of 15.2 mm and a weight of 123 grams. The screen is a 240x320 pixel TFT, capable of displaying up to 256,000 colors, for always sharp and bright images. A large clickable central pad is instead very useful for navigating through menus and functions. The keyboard on the front is a standard alphanumeric one, but inside you'll find the extended QWERTY one to use to comfortably write longer messages.

Main features
The potential offered by this device is excellent. The operating system is proprietary and allows expandability without particular limitations, so as to better personalize your own device thanks also to Java support. Furthermore, the most common document formats are supported, thanks to the Office and PDF package. Writing messages is really fast, with the extended keyboard. This way you can compose SMS, multimedia messages and E-mails. We must also mention the RSS Feed reader and support for Instant Messaging. The voice sector offers hands-free and conference calls, as well as the voice recorder. The dedicated front camera also allows you to make video calls.

Entertainment and multimedia
To satisfy every need across a 360° audience, the designers equipped the Samsung T749 Gravity 3 with a digital camera. It takes photographs at a resolution of 2 megapixels, so as to obtain good quality images, thanks also to the built-in Zoom and Flash. Furthermore, special functions can be used to improve shots, such as smile recognition. The built-in memory is 70 MB, but it's easily expandable via microSD cards up to 16 GB. This way you can always have your favorite music and videos with you, to play with the dedicated media player. The presence of a GPS receiver is interesting, to integrate satellite functions. A device of this caliber absolutely needs a battery that guarantees good battery life. And indeed, the 1000 mAh allow a duration of 400 hours in Stand-by.
