A simple and essential phone, which however proves to be a valid support in moments of leisure. This is the Stratus, a GSM Quadband, capable of exploiting the 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz frequencies; in this way the signal coverage is excellent under any condition. Browsing the Internet is absolutely fast and easy, thanks to the internal modem with GPRS protocol for data traffic. The HTML browser is therefore able to open every page immediately without any problem. Bluetooth and the output for the USB 2.0 data cable could certainly not be missing.
Design and features
The shape follows the classic vertical Slider opening, to attract a young and above all dynamic audience, with the spirit and desire to have fun in moments of leisure. In this device you can find excellent compromises for portability, thanks to its compact dimensions, with a thickness of just 14.9 mm and 86 grams of weight. The front part is occupied by the screen, a TFT at 120x160 pixels capable of displaying up to 65,000 colors. Opening the structure instead reveals the standard alphanumeric keyboard inside. The retail package also includes excellent stereo earphones, in addition to the data cable.
Main features
The Samsung Stratus is equipped with a proprietary platform, which by default offers complete applications and content. With Java support it is also possible to install additional software, to better customize your device. Of course, management tools such as the phonebook, organizer, alarm clock and clock, as well as currency converter and calculator, are not missing. The voice section offers the possibility of calling in hands-free mode, or of recording conversations with the voice recorder. Multiconference calls are also supported. Predictive text input helps a lot in composing messages, from SMS to E-mail, with the possibility of also managing attachments.
Entertainment and multimedia
Let's now talk about the most distinctive aspect of this Samsung phone. It is an exceptional tool for music playback, thanks to the dedicated multimedia player with support for the most common audio formats. It is also possible to receive your favorite radio stations, thanks to the AM/FM antenna with RDS function. The available 15 MB memory is expandable with microSD cards up to 8 GB, so as to have no space limits. This way you can also save photos and videos captured directly from the rear digital camera, in VGA resolution. In short, an absolutely complete phone for any situation.
