Practically the twin of the S5230W Star Wi-Fi, dedicated however not to the European market, but to the Middle Eastern one. In any case it maintains the same features, starting with the GSM Quadband network receiver. The readiness for browsing the Internet can already be guessed from the name. In fact there is a Wi-Fi antenna that allows you to take advantage of distributed networks. Alternatively you can always count on the internal GPRS modem. The HMTL browser will therefore be able to open Web pages without problems. Bluetooth and the output for the USB data cable are also present.
Design and features
Classic and simple Candybar style, with rounded edges to offer greater comfort in the grip. The dimensions are compact, to guarantee uncompromising portability: 11.9 mm thick and only 92 grams in weight. The front is occupied by the screen, a 3-inch TFT WQVGA, capable of displaying up to 250,000 colors. It is also equipped with Touch Screen technology, which allows quick and intuitive management of content. Just below instead a multifunction key and those for managing calls.
Main features
The proprietary platform proves complete and functional right from the start. Contact list, appointment diary, calendar, alarm clock and calculator are just some of the basic applications. Java support allows you to install additional software, so as to customize the device according to your needs. Support for multiple E-mail accounts makes it easy to manage electronic mail, also allowing the viewing of Office and PDF attachments. The screen's accelerometer is a valuable tool while browsing, since it automatically orients the displayed image adapting it. The purely telephonic aspect offers the possibility of using the speakerphone and the voice recorder. Multiconference calls are also supported.
Entertainment and multimedia
The Samsung S5233W Wi-Fi is also excellent as an entertainment tool. The digital camera allows you to take quality photographs, thanks to the 3.2 megapixel optics. Zoom and Flash, together with dedicated functions, allow perfect capture in any condition. Thanks to it, it is also possible to record short videos, to be saved on the 50 MB memory. If the space were not enough, it is always possible to use microSD cards up to 16 GB. In this way favorite audio and video files will always be at hand, to be played through the dedicated multimedia player. It is also possible to receive AM/FM radio broadcasts. The battery life is excellent: it guarantees 700 hours of Stand-by autonomy.
