Samsung P520 Armani review

Network and connections
A refined and elegant phone, presented by Samsung in collaboration with Armani. Starting from the technical features, it can be said right away that the Samsung P520 Armani is a GSM Triband device, capable of working on the 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz frequencies. It does not have UMTS mode, however network coverage turns out to be rather good. An internal modem allows connection to the Internet network, also thanks to the HTML browser; everything is managed by the GPRS or EDGE protocol for packet data traffic. But that's not all, because Wi-Fi support also allows taking advantage of distributed networks. Bluetooth is not missing as far as wireless is concerned, nor is the USB 2.0 cable for syncing directly with a PC.

Design and features

The style of this device is refined, thanks to the platinum-colored shell and glossy surfaces. What stands out the most is the compactness of its dimensions: it can be closed in the palm of a hand, while always maintaining an important look in any situation. The lines are rounded at the edges to provide greater comfort in grip to the Candybar monoblock structure. The dimensions are 8.9 mm thick, for a weight of 102 grams. The front is entirely occupied by the screen, a 2.6-inch TFT, capable of displaying up to 256,000 colors. It is equipped with Touch Screen technology, absolutely convenient for handling every operation. The purchase package includes a travel charger, as well as earphones and the USB cable.

Main features
The Samsung P520 Armani is absolutely complete, to satisfy the needs of every type of user. It is equipped with an agenda with alarm synchronization, to better manage appointments. As well as a contacts address book, notepad and currency converter. There are also support tools for easier writing of SMS, multimedia messages and E-mail, also with attachment management. The voice aspect consists of a built-in speakerphone, as well as a voice recorder and support for multi-conferencing. The platform is proprietary and does not allow extensive customization, even though Java support allows the installation of convenient small-sized applications and utilities.

Entertainment and multimedia
In this area the P520 Armani performs rather well, given its features that are complete even for leisure. The 50 MB internal memory is expandable via microSD type cards, so you can always have your favorite music with you. The media player will take care of faithful, quality playback, as well as supporting reception of AM/FM radio broadcasts. On the back, however, there is a 3 megapixel camera, which allows taking excellent quality photographs, also thanks to dedicated functions such as Zoom and autofocus. A discreet note on the battery, which with its 960 mAh allows a duration of up to 220 hours in Stand-by.
