Samsung Marine review

Network and connections
A phone designed for those who need a tough and reliable device in any working condition. Starting with the technical features, we can say that the Samsung Marine is a GSM Quadband, able to guarantee truly excellent signal coverage. It does not support UMTS networks, however the connection to the Web is fast thanks to GPRS; the HTML browser can thus open every Internet page without any problems. Bluetooth is also present, handy for exchanging files with other devices, as well as the USB 2.0 data cable.

Design and features
At first glance this device immediately looks sturdy and resolute, like a true work tool. It is indeed able to withstand violent impacts and extreme temperatures, thanks to the insulating materials used in its construction. The tests and features are guaranteed by the American Military Standard 810F. The fairly compact dimensions are a fair compromise for the sturdiness it guarantees: 17.4 mm thick for a weight of 103 grams. The front is occupied by a 1.7-inch TFT screen, capable of displaying up to 256,000 colors. Just below is the alphanumeric keypad, along with some function keys for managing the device.

Main features
The Samsung Marine is equipped with the proprietary platform, complete and functional from every point of view. With Java support, it is possible to install additional compatible software, to better customize your device. Predictive text support allows you to quickly compose SMS and multimedia messages. As for the telephone side, there is a built-in speakerphone, a voice recorder, support for multi-conference calls and voice dialing.

Entertainment and multimedia
Besides being a perfect work tool, the Marine also shows good qualities for entertainment. Here we have the 1.3 megapixel digital camera, sufficient for taking acceptable quality photos when needed. You can also record videos, saving them directly to the internal memory, which can also be expanded with microSD cards up to 8 GB. You can therefore carry plenty of audio and video files with you, to play back with the dedicated media player. During breaks you can use the fun preinstalled games. Battery life is incredible, up to as much as 600 hours of operation in Stand-by.
