Samsung M3510 Beat review
Network and connections
A fresh and fun phone, to be used in free time as a perfect entertainment tool. Equipped with interesting technical features, despite belonging to a mid-low market segment. The network receiver is a GSM Triband, on frequencies of 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. This guarantees good network coverage, even though UMTS support is missing. Connection to the Web is possible thanks to the internal modem, which manages data traffic via GPRS and EDGE. This way the WAP browser can easily open pages. Bluetooth instead allows you to exchange files with other devices, while the USB 2.0 cable allows direct synchronization with your home PC.
Design and features
At first glance you notice the classic style of a Candybar, with rubberized surfaces to ensure a secure and comfortable grip. The look also conveys a sense of sturdiness, therefore resistance to impacts for use while on the move. However, the dimensions are really compact, with a thickness of just 9.9 mm and a truly negligible weight: 68 grams. Portability is absolutely guaranteed in any situation. The screen on the front is a 240x320 pixel TFT, with a display of 16 million colors, for perfect images. Just below are some dedicated keys for music functions, followed by the clickable directional pad and the standard numeric keypad. The sales package includes the data cable and stereo earphones.
Main features
The classic management functions make everything very simple and quick to handle, from contacts to daily appointments. Java support allows a certain expandability of compatible software, though not comparable to higher-end devices. T9 helps with quick message composition, so you can easily write SMS, multimedia messages and also E-mails. The voice section instead allows you to make calls via speakerphone, or to make voice recordings. Also present is support for multiconferencing.
Entertainment and multimedia
Here now is the area in which the Samsung M3510 Beat stands out for the qualities it is equipped with. In fact, it behaves like a true music player, with support for various formats. In addition to the dedicated keys to better manage playback, there are numerous dedicated functions. For example, the Motion Play sensor allows you to change tracks simply with taps or rotations. Samsung's DNSe technology instead offers top-level audio quality, to fully take advantage of 3D sound diffusion and amplified bass. To complete the offering, this model has been equipped with a rear camera, with a 2.0 megapixel sensor; thanks to it you can take acceptable quality photographs when needed. The available memory is 20 MB, further expandable via microSD cards. Finally, a mention of the battery, a lithium 800 mAh one that guarantees a battery life of 250 hours in Stand-by.
