SGH-i600 is a product of the Korean company Samsung. It is a Dual Mode smartphone, meaning UMTS and GSM Tri-band (900, 1800, 1900 Mhz). Data transfer connection takes place via the EDGE system, or GPRS. Bluetooth connectivity proves essential for using dedicated accessories and for exchanging files with other wireless devices. The device is also equipped with a USB cable for direct connection to a computer, Wi-fi compatibility for wireless LAN connections, while it lacks an infrared port (IrDa). The operating system is Windows Mobile 5.0.
Design and features
Samsung SGH-i600 is a light and pocketable device with a standard type body, monoblock, which stands out for its elegant and slim design. Its thickness, in fact, is just 12 mm. The model is available in the Black color and is equipped with an integrated antenna. Overall it proves to be a practical and versatile smartphone, carefully finished in its details.
Main features
Samsung SGH-i600 offers a rich range of features. During conversations the handy built-in speakerphone can be used. It is also possible to record short voice Memos, while voice command calling is not provided. Support for 3G services is essential, allowing video calls, sending video messages and connecting to the broadband network. As for messaging, it is possible to manage Sms, Ems, Mms and E-Mail, with fast T9 writing. Memory is 64 MB and is expandable with MicroSD cards. The phone also features alarm clock, calculator, stopwatch and internal organizer functions.
Entertainment and multimedia
Samsung SGH-i600 offers a wide range of monophonic and polyphonic ringtones. It also has an audio player for listening to music in MP3/AAC format. The phone is not equipped with a radio while several pre-installed games are present, with the possibility of adding new ones by downloading them from the network, thanks to Java (J2ME) support and the WAP browser. This model is equipped with a dual integrated camera. The main one has a resolution of 1.3 Megapixels and can achieve good quality photographs in terms of sharpness and color rendering, with a maximum resolution of 1280x1024 pixels. The device is also equipped with digital zoom and video recording.
