This phone from Samsung is designed to meet every kind of need. To begin with, it is equipped with GSM Triband network support, on frequencies of 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz, to guarantee decidedly good signal quality. In addition, with Dual Mode mode you can also take advantage of UMTS. As for wireless, Bluetooth is not missing for connecting to compatible devices, or alternatively a USB 2.0 data cable for syncing with a PC. The internal modem and HSDPA support for fast data traffic allow you to browse the Web without any problems.

Design and features
The brick-shaped structure of the F490 immediately conveys solidity and compactness. The lines are well finished, rounded at the edges to give slimness and ease of handling. On the front, the large 3.2 inch screen in 16:9 format dominates, with a display of 262K colors. It is equipped with Touch Screen technology, which allows the device to be managed entirely. On the side edges there are some function keys for various adjustments and for the camera. The weight is really contained, only 102 grams, as is the thickness of 11.8 mm. Included in the sales package are the headset and the USB cable.

First of all, it should be specified that the keyboard appears with a click on the screen, displaying comfortable keys for writing quickly, also relying on the T9 predictive text system. The features are complete in this Samsung, from managing appointments with agenda and calendar, to an advanced contacts list and alarm clock. For the voice sector, there is a built-in speakerphone, support for video calling and multi-conferencing. Messaging is also complete, with SMS and multimedia messages, as well as E-mail management. The Mobile Tracker utility is interesting, which in case of theft sends an SMS with the data of the new SIM inserted to a number preset by the owner.

The F490 shows great class when it comes to entertainment. It is in fact equipped with a 5 megapixel camera which, thanks to the built-in Flash and the Zoom function, allows you to take extremely high quality photographs.
