Samsung Epic 4G review

Network and connections
A device intended for the American public, capable of offering advanced features for the needs of any user. The connectivity it's capable of can already be guessed from its name: it is in fact a 4G phone, for calling and browsing with no operational limits. Viewing web pages without any issues will be the job of the HTML browser. It's also possible to take advantage of wide networks thanks to the integrated Wi-Fi antenna. Bluetooth is of course not missing, essential for connecting to compatible devices.

Design and features
The exterior look of this phone is simple, with rounded lines along the edges to ensure greater comfort in the grip. The upper part is occupied by the display, a Super AMOLED measuring a full 4 inches, capable of displaying up to 16 million colors. It also features Capacitive Touch Screen technology, for optimal management of any content, also thanks to a clickable directional pad. Just below are keys dedicated to the main and management functions. The dimensions are fairly compact, despite the Slider body which houses an extended QWERTY keyboard. We're talking about a thickness of 14 mm and a weight of 155 grams.

Main features
The Samsung Epic 4G is geared toward enjoying content from the Internet, also thanks to the Android platform. The classic Google services are in fact available, such as Google Maps, YouTube, Google Talk for instant conversations and many other applications. Or again Facebook, Flickr and Instant Messaging. Basic features such as a contacts address book and a calendar for appointments are certainly not missing. It's also possible to download new Open Source software directly from the network, to best customize your own device. The voice aspect instead offers speakerphone, voice recorder and video call support.

Entertainment and multimedia
This Smartphone is absolutely complete and functional, even for leisure moments. Here then is a 5 megapixel camera, capable of delivering excellent quality photographs. It can count on dedicated functions such as autofocus, Zoom and image adjustment. The 512 MB internal memory allows for excellent storage capacity; however, for the most demanding users it's possible to use microSD cards for expansion up to 32 GB. There is also a multimedia player, so you can always have your favorite music or videos with you. Furthermore, this Epic 4G is equipped with a GPS receiver, to be used as a satellite navigator.
