Samsung E2210 review

Network and connections
A simple and dynamic phone, suited to an audience without high demands but still looking for quality. The Samsung E2210 offers very good technologies and features, such as the GSM Quadband network receiver, on frequencies of 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. This allows excellent signal coverage, even though UMTS support is missing. The Internet is always at hand, so you can browse Web pages with the HTML browser. The internal modem guarantees data coverage in GPRS or EDGE. There's also Bluetooth for exchanging files with compatible devices, as well as the USB 2.0 data cable output.

Design and features
The simple and smooth lines of the body make the phone suitable for every situation. The edges remain rounded to offer greater ergonomics and a secure grip. The structure is compact, with a clamshell design. This leaves a small display on the front, convenient for viewing basic information. Inside, instead, you'll find the standard alphanumeric keypad and the main screen, a TFT 128x160 pixel display capable of showing up to 262,000 colors. The weight is fairly contained, at just 85.5 grams. The sales package includes the earphones and the USB data cable.

Main features
The proprietary Samsung platform offers complete, if basic, features. You can manage your phonebook contacts, as well as appointments on the calendar-synced agenda. You can set alarms and sound reminders, or do conversions between international currencies. Java support also allows you to install compatible software, so you can better customize your device. Support for predictive text helps a lot with quick text composition, making it easy to handle SMS, multimedia messages and even E-mail. The purely telephone side offers speakerphone, voice recorder and support for multi-conference calls.

Entertainment and multimedia
To conclude, let's talk about the multimedia side. It boasts an excellent music and video player, with support for the most common formats. This way you can always carry your favorite songs in your pocket, saved on the internal memory, expandable via microSD cards. There's also a digital camera, even if only with VGA resolution; in any case it remains useful when needed for taking pictures, with Zoom and autofocus functions. Portability is guaranteed for up to 300 hours in Stand-by, thanks to the lithium battery.
