Samsung E2130 review

Network and connections
An easy and simple phone, for users looking for a stable device that allows them to make calls, but also with a few small extra functions. The E2130's network receiver is a GSM Dualband; it guarantees good signal coverage, even if it doesn't allow for intercontinental travel. The internal modem with GPRS technology allows you to browse the WAP network, displaying pages with the dedicated browser. Bluetooth, on the other hand, is handy for exchanging files with other devices. Additionally, you can sync the phone's data with your home PC via USB cable.

Design and features
A classic and essential style, somewhat old-fashioned, for this Samsung E2130. The structure is a compact Candybar, sturdy at first glance but lightweight to the touch. The weight is in fact 78 grams, with a thickness of 14.7 mm. Portability is therefore high, with no need for compromises. The front of the device houses the screen, a 128x160 pixel CSNT, capable of displaying up to 65,000 colors. At the center there is a clickable directional pad that, together with a few function keys, allows you to best manage every operation. Just below is the standard alphanumeric keyboard.

Main features
The proprietary platform is immediately simple and not too scattered. The various functions can be found easily, for extremely fast and undemanding use. Java support also allows you to install small compatible utilities. Support for predictive text helps a lot with composing text, making it easier to manage SMS, multimedia messages and E-mail. The Mobile Tracker and Bike Mode features are interesting. As for the purely telephone-related functions, there's a speakerphone, voice recorder and conference call support.

Entertainment and multimedia
A small device suited to those not looking for sophisticated functions, limited therefore to the essentials. Nevertheless, on the E2130 we can find a digital camera with VGA resolution, useful for taking a few photos if needed. With it, you can also record short videos. The memory available to the user is only 7 MB, but expandable up to 2 GB via microSD cards. This way you can also carry your favorite music files with you, to be played back using the dedicated media player. There's also an AM/FM radio antenna for tuning in to radio stations. The battery life is truly excellent, at about 550 hours of Stand-by.
