Samsung E1117 review
Network and connections
Another low-end phone offered by Samsung, which has experience and quality of the technologies used on its side. The E1117's network receiver is a Dualband GSM, on frequencies of 900 and 1800 MHz. Coverage turns out to be good even if only at a local level. GPRS support allows you to browse the Internet, opening pages through the WAP browser. This way you will always have network contents available. Extremely simple, it does not offer the possibility of using Bluetooth, but only the USB data cable to connect to the home PC.
Design and features
A simple and clean style, without daring too much in lines and colors. The monoblock structure keeps the dimensions compact, with 15.7 mm of thickness and a weight of 76.8 grams. The rounded edges guarantee a more comfortable and secure grip. The front part houses the screen, a TFT 128x128 pixel, displaying 65,000 colors. Just below is the standard alphanumeric keypad, with well-defined keys for trouble-free use. A directional pad in the center helps in managing contents.
Main features
Proprietary platform with complete even if essential features. You can manage contacts with the phonebook, or appointments with the handy organizer equipped with a calendar. Alarm clock and calculator are not missing, nor are currency converter and stopwatch. Support for predictive text allows you to quickly write SMS, but MMS and E-mail are not supported. The telephone side offers the possibility of making hands-free calls, or making voice recordings. The audio quality turns out to be fairly good even in the presence of background noise.
Entertainment and multimedia
The Samsung E1117 is a basic device, which does not offer complicated and high-level applications. In fact, there is no digital camera present, so it is not possible to take photographs or record videos. The internal memory is only 1.5 MB, so it is not possible to have music to play with you. In fact, the multimedia player is missing, but it is possible to receive your favorite radio stations thanks to the built-in AM/FM antenna. In moments of leisure you can use the pre-installed games. Battery life is very good, lasting up to 500 hours in Stand-by.
