Samsung C5010 Squash review

Network and connections
Samsung offers a device with a low price, absolutely competitive also thanks to complete and practical functions to use. The C5010 Squash is equipped with a GSM Quadband receiver, capable of working on the frequencies of 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. This way the signal coverage is always optimal, thanks also to UMTS support. As for web browsing, there is an integrated modem with GPRS/EDGE data traffic management. Pages will therefore be displayed without problems, with the WAP browser. Bluetooth is present for exchanging files with compatible devices, while you can use the USB 2.0 data cable output to sync with your home PC.

Design and features
The lines of this Entry Level are truly simple but elegant, giving a sense of compactness and sturdiness.. The casing is a monoblock, with rounded edges so as to give greater comfort in the grip. Portability is also very good, given the compact dimensions: 81 grams of weight for a thickness of 12.8 mm. On the upper part stands out the screen, a 2-inch TFT with a maximum display of 65,000 colors. The purchase package should include the USB data cable and the earphones.

Main features
The Samsung C5010 Squash comes with a proprietary platform that is complete and functional. With Java support it is also possible to install compatible utilities to partly customize your device. The basic functions are absolutely complete: an address book for contacts, a calendar synchronized for appointments, alarm clock and calculator. The voice sector is also noteworthy, thanks to the integrated hands-free, the voice recorder and multiconference support. Predictive text support allows you to quickly compose SMS and multimedia messages, as well as E-mails.

Entertainment and multimedia
To complete the features of this interesting though simple device, the designers deemed it necessary to integrate a good digital camera, with a resolution of 1.3 megapixels and functions such as autofocus and Zoom. The photos obtained are of rather poor quality, but still useful in case of need. A positive note, however, is the presence of an AM/FM radio tuner, so you can listen to your favorite stations on the go. Or again it is possible to play audio and video files through the multimedia player. Internal memory of 42 MB, expandable up to 8 GB via microSD cards. Good battery life, lasting up to 400 hours in Stand-by.
