Samsung B7350 Omnia PRO 4 review
Network and connections
Big brother of the B6520 Omnia Pro 5, this new B7350 shows superior technical features. The network receiver is a GSM Quadband, capable of guaranteeing optimal coverage in any area of the world, also thanks to UMTS support. Internet browsing is really fast, with an HSDPA modem for packet data traffic. With the HTML browser it will feel like opening pages just like with home ADSL. To exchange files with other compatible devices, Bluetooth is used instead. Or again the USB 2.0 data cable to sync directly with a PC. Also present is the antenna for Wi-Fi distributed networks.
Design and features
The compact structure encloses everything in a sturdy body that's practical to handle, despite the presence of the extended QWERTY keyboard. The rounded edges offer an ergonomic grip, to hold the device comfortably in the palm of your hand. The dimensions are in fact compact, with a thickness of 11.9 mm and a weight just over 100 grams. The front houses the large display, a 2.6-inch TFT with display up to 65,000 colors and an accelerometer sensor for image auto-rotation. A multifunction key also helps in navigating the menus. The sales package includes a headset and data cable.
Main features
The platform is Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional, designed to offer advanced features to the Business user, while still keeping ease of management and customization. This is made possible by the thoroughly complete application package offered, with address book, organizer, alarm clock and calculator, currency converter and also a stopwatch. But that's not all, because Java support allows the installation of compatible software for expansion. Office document support allows you to manage E-mail attachments without any problems. These can be composed quickly, thanks to the QWERTY keyboard, ideal for typing just like on a PC. The RSS Feed reader is useful. The purely telephone-related aspect is no less impressive either, with good-quality speakerphone, voice recorder, and multiconference support. In addition, the dedicated camera allows video calls to be made. It is also possible to stay always in touch with friends on the network, via Instant Messaging.
Entertainment and multimedia
In a quality device like the B7350 Omnia Pro 4, a camera certainly couldn't be missing. It has a resolution of 3.2 megapixels, for excellent quality images thanks also to Flash, Zoom, Face Detection and other dedicated functions. You can also record videos, to be saved on the internal 200 MB memory, further expandable up to 32 GB with microSD cards. This way your favorite music and videos will always be in your pocket, to be played with the media player. The AM/FM antenna then allows you to receive your favorite radio broadcasts in any area, complete with an RDS function. Also included is the GPS receiver for satellite functions.
