Network and connections
An excellent product offered by Samsung, the B3410 is suitable for satisfying every type of user. The network receiver is a GSM Quadband, able to guarantee optimal coverage in any area of the world, despite lacking UMTS support. Internet browsing is really fast, with a GPRS/EDGE modem for packet data traffic. With the HTML browser it will seem like opening pages without any problem. To exchange files with other compatible devices, Bluetooth is used instead. Or even the USB 2.0 data cable to sync directly with the PC.
Design and features
The compact structure with a side Slider encloses everything in a sturdy body that's practical to handle. The rounded edges offer an ergonomic grip, to hold the device comfortably in the palm of your hand. The dimensions are indeed compact, with 16.2 mm of thickness and 114 grams of weight. Inside is the extended QWERTY keyboard, to manage text at its best. The front side houses the large screen, a 2.6-inch QVGA TFT with display of up to 256,000 colors. It's equipped with TouchWhiz 2.0 technology, to offer simple and intuitive content management. A multifunction key also helps in using the menus. Included in the retail package are earphones and the data cable.
Main features
The simple and intuitive interface allows you to manage everything without problems, with menus that are ever more convenient and fast. The application package offered is absolutely complete, with address book, organizer, alarm clock and calculator, currency converter and even a stopwatch. But that's not all, because Java support allows you to install compatible software for expansion. Support for Office documents allows you to manage E-mail attachments without any problem. They can be composed quickly, thanks to the predictive text input that helps a lot with message texts. The purely telephone aspect is no less impressive either, with a good quality speakerphone, voice recorder, and multiconference support.
Entertainment and multimedia
To complete the technological offering of this B3410, Samsung's designers equipped the device with a 2 megapixel camera. It's really handy for taking photographs when needed, thanks also to Flash, Zoom and other dedicated functions. You can also record videos, to be saved on the 30 MB internal memory, expandable with microSD cards. There's also a multimedia player for playing audio and video files in various formats. Battery life isn't bad, with 670 hours in Stand-by.
