Samsung B2100 Xplorer review

Network and connections
A phone designed for those who need a tough and reliable device in any working condition. Starting from the technical features, we can say that the Samsung B2100 Explorer is a Quadband GSM, able to guarantee truly optimal signal coverage. It does not support UMTS networks, however the connection to the Web is fast thanks to GPRS; the HTML browser can thus open every Internet page without problems. Bluetooth is also present, handy for exchanging files with other devices, as well as the USB 2.0 data cable.

Design and features
At first glance this device immediately looks sturdy and resolute, like a true work tool. It is in fact able to withstand violent impacts and extreme temperatures, thanks to the insulating materials used in its construction. The tests and features are guaranteed by the US Military Standard 810F. The fairly compact dimensions are a fair compromise for the sturdiness it guarantees: 17.4 mm thick for a weight of 102.8 grams. The front is occupied by a 1.7-inch TFT screen, capable of displaying up to 256,000 colors. Just below is the alphanumeric keypad, along with a few function keys for managing the device.

Main features
The Samsung B2100 Explorer is equipped with the proprietary platform, complete and functional from every point of view. With Java support it is possible to install compatible additional software, to better personalize your device. Support for predictive text allows you to quickly compose SMS and multimedia messages. As for the telephone side, there is a built-in speakerphone, a voice recorder, support for multi-party calls, and voice dialing.

Entertainment and multimedia
In addition to being a perfect work tool, the B2100 Explorer also shows good capabilities in the entertainment department. Here we find a 1.3 megapixel digital camera, sufficient for taking acceptable quality photographs when needed. You can also record videos, to be saved directly to the internal memory, which can also be expanded with microSD cards up to 8 GB. You can therefore carry plenty of audio and video files with you, to be played back with the dedicated media player. During breaks you can use the fun pre-installed games. The battery life is incredible, up to as much as 600 hours of Stand-by operation.
