Network and connections
The Pantech Duo proves to be an absolutely complete Smartphone from every point of view. First of all, it is a GSM Triband, capable of working on frequencies of 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. In addition, thanks to Dual Mode it supports reception of UMTS networks, to guarantee coverage and services in any situation. With the Duo you can browse the Internet without problems, thanks to the internal modem with data traffic management in HSDPA, to reach high speeds just like with wired networks, opening any HTML page. To communicate directly with other devices, you can always use Bluetooth or the USB 2.0 connection.
Design and features
What strikes you most about the Pantech Duo is definitely the design. Indeed the Dual Slide body hides a QWERTY keyboard as well as a standard numeric one. This is possible thanks to the front sliding in two different directions, vertical and horizontal. The dimensions nevertheless remain fairly comfortable, with a thickness of 19.9 mm and a weight of 110 grams. The upper part is occupied by the screen, a 240x320 pixel TFT; it can display up to 256,000 colors, for bright and vivid images. Just below it there's a directional pad and function keys for navigating the menus.
Main features
It's enough to say that the Pantech Duo is equipped with the Windows Mobile 6.0 platform to understand the potential it is able to offer. In addition, the 416 MHz Intel XScale processor offers unlimited processing power. This way, additional applications can be installed without problems, to best customize your own device, also thanks to Java support. Viewing and editing documents of various formats is really simple, with the Pocket Office suite. This way you can also manage E-mail attachments. The telephone side, on the other hand, boasts the speakerphone, voice recorder and support for multi-conferencing; in addition, it is possible to make video calls.
Entertainment and multimedia
The multimedia sector offers standard but nonetheless complete features, to guarantee entertainment in any situation. The 1.3 megapixel camera allows you to get pictures the moment you need them, thanks also to the Zoom and dedicated functions. There is also a multimedia player, handy for playing audio and video files in various formats. This way you always have your favorite music at hand, to be stored on the 50 MB memory, expandable via microSD cards. Battery life is acceptable, with autonomy of up to 240 hours in Stand-by.
