Panasonic X400 review

Network and connections
A device with a distinctive and super-slim design, offered by Panasonic on the market. The X400 presents good compromises in terms of technical specifications, with a GSM Triband receiver, on frequencies of 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. To browse the Internet you can comfortably use the WAP browser. It will open pages supported by the internal modem with GPRS data traffic management. Bluetooth is not present for exchanging files with other devices. However, it is possible to sync with your home PC via USB cable.

Design and features
The most distinctive and characteristic aspect of the X400 is definitely the design. The clamshell body keeps the dimensions truly compact, at just 17.5 mm in thickness and 86 grams in weight. Moreover, the opening movement is automatic: just press the dedicated button and the phone will open instantly. Inside you will find the standard alphanumeric keyboard and the screen. The latter is a TFT capable of displaying up to 65,000 colors. The antenna is not integrated, but pokes out from the top. On the front cover you can notice a small mirror that helps when using the camera for self-timer shots.

Main features
The proprietary platform offers complete and easy-to-use basic features. The classic organizer functions are present, such as contact list, agenda, calendar, alarm clock and calculator. Java support is also present, which allows good expansion possibilities with compatible applications. With the well-arranged keyboard keys it is convenient to compose text messages and MMS, also thanks to support for predictive text. As for the purely telephone-related aspect instead, the Panasonic X400 offers rather limited basic features, without voice recorder and conference call support. It seems that the speakerphone is also missing, leaving the obligation to use the headset while on the move in a car.

Entertainment and multimedia
To give a personal touch to your device, it is possible to change the desktop wallpapers, as well as customize the polyphonic ringtones. These can also be downloaded directly from the Internet, as well as games to use during leisure moments. There is also a digital camera, which allows you to take photographs when needed. The quality will be in CMOS VGA resolution. Good battery life with the lithium battery, for autonomy of up to 210 hours in Stand-by.
